Men's Fashion 2010: Spring's Must-Have Accessories - Shopping - Fashion Style

Men's fashion is a very dynamic industry, changing considerably every season's worth of collections. It doesn't mean that you should completely replace your wardrobe every season, though. Simply keeping up with the latest accessories should keep your outfits edgy and on-trend, all for a fraction of the cost of a whole new set of clothes.

New WatchesTradition dictates that men's watches be plain, functional and, well, manly. This description most often called for watches with plain white or black faces, to make the timepiece seem strong and masculine. That style machismo will take a break this season with the new craze in watches.

Gray watches are lightening up the mood this season in about every imaginable variety and shape. Whether you like the simplest timepieces or the most complicated multifunction chronographs, slate, gunmetal and all the other hues of gray will be the color of watch to wear. It's as understated as plain black or white, but will force people to do a double take on your hardware.

If you want to color it up, though, you could also try the colored watch trend that'll be all the rage for spring. With all the relatively inexpensive watches on the market right now, wearing one is a quick way to add a cheeky touch of color to your outfit. You'll be able to color coordinate your look with a watch like you would a colorful necktie.

The Stingy FedoraFedoras will be back in style for spring, but it's not the kind that dandies of the fifties and sixties wore with their broad neckties and boxy suits. The next wave of cool hats will feature a brim that measures next to nothing, hence its moniker of the 'stingy' fedora.

It doesn't have as much of the formal and traditional heritage of its bigger brimmed brethren, but it's perfect for giving a dose of attitude to even the dourest suit and tie ensemble. Because it's already so formidable on its own, the hat itself doesn't need any more details or embellishments. A simple fabric with a black band should be sufficient to get your point across.

Stingy fedoras are far from formal. They're good for dressing up a tie-less outfit for going out or with your office suit on your commute, but you'll want to think twice about wearing it to an important business meeting. It might just be too much avant garde fashion for your client.

Plastic AviatorsUnlike neckties, sunglasses aren't seen by a lot of men as a vital accessory. In fact, you're likely to know at least a couple of guys who don't own even a pair. Should you decide to start getting into sunglasses this spring, though, a plastic pair is the best kind to get.

Why plastic? It's simply an updated version to the aviator trend from several seasons ago, where almost every eyewear designer released their own take on the iconically big frames. There's a lot more to like about them, too. Not only are they lighter than their metal counterparts, but they also tend to be cheaper. If you've ever wanted a pair of sunglasses that wasn't regulation black, a plastic pair is in your future.

Although the plastic frames might seem like such a childish accoutrement, all the rules of grownup sunglasses are still in effect. That means the aviators are best worn by men who have a broad face to complement the size of the frame. Otherwise, the overall effect will be somewhat disproportional visually.

The cool men's accessories for the upcoming season are hardly surprising. After all, they're largely new takes on style classics. They're just the right amounts of new to make each and every one of your outfits seem novel again.
