Candice Swanepoel: One of the World's Top-Earning Models - Entertainment

Born in the small South African village of Mooi River, in the Natal Province, supermodel Candice Swanepoel led an idyllic life on her family's dairy and beef farm. A blonde-haired, blue-eyed, native South African, Swanepoel always had an appetite for fashion and beauty and was thrilled to be discovered by a talent scout at the young age of 15. Within two years of being discovered, she moved to New York City to become a full-time model.

Soon after moving to New York City, she was cast as an Angel in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Swanepoel is no stranger to fashion shows having been cast in them before. However, she was fortunate to star in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for many years. Her appearances on the runway and in print quickly landed her supermodel status, and she became every man's dream.

To prepare herself for a fashion show, Swanepoel enjoys exploring different forms of exercise and nutrition. Finding new ways to keep herself in shape and energized. Obviously her fitness efforts are working. As a supermodel, she has graced the cover of Vogue, Elle, and Ocean Drive. She has also done print advertisements for Nike, Diesel, and Guess. Candice Swanepoel's resume reads like a clothing department as she has worked runway shows for designers, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Stella McCartney, and Diane von Furstenberg to name a few.

It seems that whatever this stunning South African supermodel touches turns to gold. Swanepoel officially opened the first Victoria's Secret retail store in Canada at the West Edmonton Mall. She has worked for several agencies including the Ice Model Management, IMG Models, Why Not Model Agency, Viva Models, Elite Model Management and Modelwerk. Such accomplishments have earned her the number 10 ranking on Forbes' The World's Top-Earning Model List.

In spite of her rapid success, the 23-year-old supermodel has stayed humble and true to her roots. She claimed, "I will always be thankful to the people who gave me a chance. I credit the success I've been blessed with to everyone who saw something special in me and helped me along the way." She added, "I can't express enough thanks to the fans who have supported me over the years. Your daily encouragement and care is what keeps my spirits up and puts a smile on my face." From humble beginnings to earnings estimated at $3 million last year, there is no telling where her career will take her next. Wherever it is, you can be sure that she will bring the same positive and grateful attitude she has had with all her opportunities to date. Enews-of.com
