The runway returns to Downtown Indianapolis with several exciting events including the highly-anticipated Midwest Fashion Week Oct. 19 - 22!

Start off the fall fashion season by cleaning out the old and making room for the new! Give gently-used professional attire new life by donating them to Downtown's Dress for Success, an organization promoting economic independence and providing career development for disadvantaged women.

Midwest Fashion Week Oct. 19 - 22 Lights. Camera. Fashion. Downtown will grace the runway during Midwest Fashion Week Oct. 19 - 22 with nine innovative designers including Jill Duzan, Jeryl Mitsch and Tom Vriesman to name a few. Midwest Fashion Week is celebrating five years of fashion and community support, so don't be fashionably late!

Downtown restaurant, Sensu will host Taste of Fashion Oct. 21. This event embraces fashion inspired dishes and cocktails as well as a fashion show including Hoosier-born Jennifer Brickel, eco-friendly Liz Alig and many other designers.

The finale runway fashion show will wrap up with Fashion is Empowerment Oct. 22 at Old National Centre. It will feature creations by designers including the sophisticated Amy Kirchen, vintage-inspired Amanda Valentine and edgy Anton Babich. Guests will be treated to live entertainment featuring music by DJ Gabby Love and on-site shopping.Don't miss fall's fashion events Downtown:

Oct. 6, Fall Style Show View the latest fashions in a beautiful historic setting plus an elegant luncheon at the Fall Style Show hosted by the Indianapolis Propylaeum.

Oct. 8, Puttin' on the Pink Wear it pink in celebration of breast cancer survivors during the Puttin' on the Pink Breast Cancer Survivor Fashion Show at the Marriott Downtown. Nordstrom will provide all the fashions for the 40 models in the show.

Oct. 21, Concrete RunwayConcrete Runway, a FREE and unique fashion experience, will feature models strutting along Mass Ave's sidewalk starting from the 600 block and concluding in front of Black Apple Boutique & Styling Agency where fashion photo shoots will begin.

Oct. 22, Fashion Unbound Stake out the art scene on a night of one-of-a-kind fashion designs at Fashion Unbound Oct. 22 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Stay late and strut your stuff at the Behind the Seams After Party while mingling with the designers and models. Both events will feature live entertainment and a fashion show.

Nov. 1, Dressing Indianapolis How do we adorn a city? Distinctive style, sparkling accessories and good lighting. Dressing Indianapolis, an Indy Talks program, will touch on the parallels and intersections between fashion design and urban design Nov. 1at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at 7 p.m. The event will feature four presentations and a follow-up panel discussion. Between each lecture, local fashion designers will express Indy neighborhoods as wearable art. Attendees will vote for their favorite.

Nov. 4 - 13, Spirit & Place Festival Feast your eyes on Downtown's largest week-long event, the 16th annual Spirit & Place Festival Nov. 4 - 13. The festival engages as many as 20,000 people in more than 40 programs in various locations. This year's theme is "the body." Transport yourself into a world of exotic traditions from the four corners of the world and discover how different cultures view beauty, adornment and body modification Nov. 9 at Beauty Abroad. Join individuals from places such as India, Kenya, Thailand, and Brazil, who will reveal the true meaning of many practices you may have seen but not understood.

From retro to brand newGoodbye, kitsch. Hello, vintage you'll actually want to wear. Update your style with blasts from the past at Downtown's latest vintage spot, Minx Vintage & Home in the Penn Art's Building. This new treasure offers a vintage wonderland of gently-used togs from the 1930s on up. Wrap up in Downtown's urban culture at one of Fountain Square's boutiques, IndySWANK.
