Jacket and Coat Trends for 2011 - Shopping - Fashion Style

Whats hot and whats not with coats & jackets in 2011? Read this article and discover all the latest trends in fashionable coats for women this season.

The biggest trend we are going to see is in terms of colour. This year, it is all about camel coloured coats. Any coat, any style, just make sure that it comes in a camel hue if you want to look fashionable this season.

Trench Coat

Starting with the classic coat, the trench coat is here to stay for another year. Indeed, this style of coat never seems to go out of fashion. Because they never go out of fashion, women can wear them from year to year, making them the ideal choice for anyone with a limited budget.

Trench coats are ideal for the gentler seasons: autumn and spring. They are warm enough to protect from the chilling winds of autumn, yet cool enough to wear in the warming winds of spring.

Trench coats come in a range of lengths, all of which look great, so personal preference should dictate how long the coat is.

Camel is the most fashionable colour this season, but if you want to be different, then go nautical. A nautical theme will feature heavily in upcoming fashion.

Stand out from the crowd by selecting coats & jackets with unusual or interesting detailing: a decorative belt, or a funky pattern.

Pea Coat

Pea coats have been around since the 1720s, they come in and out of fashion, and this year they are making a return. Pea coats fit close to the body, their tailoring makes them ideal for women that wish to appear slimmer, or who want to show off their feminine curves.

Aside from the camel colours we will be seeing, there will be others available too, normally sticking to a classic colour, such as black, brown, blue, or grey, you will need to accessorise to add an interesting twist to your outfit.

As a style of coat, they are wonderfully versatile and fit with a wide range of fashions. Wear with skinny jeans and ugg-style boots to pull-off this seasons hottest look.

Military Coat

Unlike the name suggests these styles of coats & jackets are wonderfully feminine. The military aspect refers to the sharp cut and tailored fit, rather than any camouflaging!

Military coats come in a range of lengths, from an understated hip-length to an exaggerated calf-length. Depending on how rebellious you are feeling choose an appropriate style; the longer, the more you will stand out.

Cape Coats

This trend is a continuation from last winters cardigan-cape trend, but designers have swapped the cardigans for coat & jacket.

Wear a cape coat to make a statement, as an unusual design they will set you apart from the rest of the fashionable people. This style of coat will come in a range of different cuts, some will be sleeveless, others short. Some will come with belts while others will button up. The choice of jacket or coat you choose will be down to personal preference, but one thing is for sure: you will look great.
